An amazing story of a Christmas Day truce 100 years ago today, when thousands of soldiers in the heat of battle stopped fighting, got out of the trenches and met their enemy. The truce wasnt coordinated but developed in bits and pieces along the front lines after hearing soldiers singing Christmas carols. When commanders learned about the truce, they were furious, but some soldiers refused to resume the fight against the men they met the day before. Officers ultimately had to rotate troops out of the area to continue the battle. Merry Christmas.
