An area of low pressure will be close to northeast Scotland today, - TopicsExpress

An area of low pressure will be close to northeast Scotland today, so it will remain breezy across much of the UK with further showers in places for the start of the weekend. However, a ridge of high pressure is set to build northeast across the UK on Sunday, ahead of ex-Hurricane Cristobal - which will race up towards Iceland and drag in warmer and drier conditions for the second half of the weekend. Ex-Cristobals weather fronts will cross the UK on Monday and Tuesday, bringing a cloudy start to next week, but high pressure rebuilds for the rest of the week, bringing a good deal of dry weather and increasingly warm sunshine for the start of meteorological autumn. For many, it will stay dry today and sunny spells will be fairly widespread across central and eastern areas, but we will see more in the way of cloud with some scattered showers towards western coasts and across northern Scotland, but these should ease through the day, with some brightness developing this afternoon. Theres still a brisk westerly wind across many areas this morning, but this should also ease through the day. Temperatures will reach 20C in London; 17C in Cardiff, Manchester and Belfast, 16C in Edinburgh. Any showers this evening will tend to fade, leaving a mostly dry night with clear spells, with winds falling light by dawn. Temperatures falling to around 12-13C. Sam
