ABS-CBN’s home-grown diva Morisette Amon, one of the finalists of The Voice’s Team Sarah Geronimo wowed the crowd at the coronation of the Miss Baybay City 2014. The Cebuana charmer, ABS-CBN’s Asap, a regular, also serenaded the audience with her latest original single, “Sana’y Akin Ka.” MALE HEARTHROB JERICO REDRICO, A FORMER HOUSEMATE OF PINOY BIG BROTHERS 4TH SEASON, SERVED AS CONSORT TO DANIKA CAYUNDA RUIZ NAMED MISS BAYBAY CITY AND CITYS AMBASSADOR OF TOURISM AND GOODWILL. Also crowned were Maureen Joy Truya Cajes and Candice Vienne Fabroa Dela Torre as runners-up in the pageant. PBB Housemates Pamu Pamorada and Steph Enage, a home-grown talent, rocked the night away with their animated song and dance numbers. According to Baybay Mayor Carmen Cari, Binaybayon Festival showcases the City’s cultural and natural heritage, as presented in the colorful street dances and parades reliving its history dating back from the pre-Spanish era. She said the festivity is also a tribute to Baybay’s march to economic progress as an agro-industrial and agribusiness center in Eastern Visayas. Cari also noted that the city is becoming a beach hideaway on Leyte’s western coast because of its infinite stretch of fine gray sand, from which the fest’s name was derived, and the tropical shelter provided by the Pangasugan mountain ranges.
