An attorney is challenging a new local law that makes it illegal - TopicsExpress

An attorney is challenging a new local law that makes it illegal to have the music in a car turned up so loud that it can be heard fifty feet away. FIFTY FEET! That is about 3.5 car lengths away and 4-5 lane widths away. When noise is that loud it is nearly impossible to hear such things as railroad gates warning that they are closing and an approaching ambulance. One persons right to play their noise trumps up to twenty other cars worth of people within a 50 foot radius makes absolutely no sense to me. Also consider this: you and I are paying the taxes that will be used to purchase the hearing aids for those drivers when their hearing is negatively effected from exposure to loud noises. In the absurd twist, if the challenge goes through and the law is repealed I want to be able to wear noise-reducing headphones similar to those worn by the airline workers that direct the planes to their spot at the airport terminal. Either that or I want to be able to sue all the drivers with loud music that have caused my hearing to be negatively effected. One drivers rights trump up to 20 others. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
