An audio #TBT from the best radio station I was ever a part of, Kicks-104 in Nashville: Our fearless leader, Michael St. John, was the best Ive ever seen at creating buzz on the street. In the fall of 1979 at the dawn of the rap era, Michael had the idea for the air staff to record a rap song about the station. Morning DJ Coyote McCloud wrote the lyrics, and we recorded it one Sunday night at Docs Studio in Hendersonville. Kicks Delight became a huge hit, by far our most popular song for several weeks. Best of all, listeners were calling other stations to request it, which made our competition furious. With Coyote, Buddy Sadler, Steve Denton, Jeff Bennett(Baker), Jon Rock & Roll Anthony, me and Lee Masters.
