An author I know was talking about her most recent manuscript. She - TopicsExpress

An author I know was talking about her most recent manuscript. She shared that, after eighteen months of hard work, she e-mailed her final scene to her editor. The big edits have already been completed and the “clean copy” has been sent to her. She said it’s always better for her to read the manuscript with all edits completed for several reasons, but most of all it’s less heart-wrenching; her eye would go to what is being removed, rather than what remains. She said that she trusts her editor. As I read those words, I was reminded of my own Editor, the LORD. My life is a continuing saga of love, joy, sorrow, pain. I don’t always know what the next chapter holds and for that I am grateful. Neither do I know what may be taken from me in the days to come. If I focus on only God’s edits in my life I might find myself in gut wrenching pains of what might have been. If I focus on the unknown future, I will cower in fear of what might happen. If I keep re-reading the last chapter, with all its hurts, turmoil and pain, I’ll just stay in the way of pain. Just because we don’t know what’s in the next chapter of our lives doesn’t mean God doesn’t want us to turn the next page. We can take each chapter as it is or we can read on to the end and find out what happens. For believers, the end is a beautiful beginning. The hero of our lives comes to sweep us away with Him and we are forever in the Kingdom of Love with Him. While we don’t know how He’s writing the story of our lives, we can trust our Editor. He knows better than we do what needs to remain and what needs to be removed. He also knows that it’s for our best and His glory that we let Him have the entire plot – give it all to Him. He will bring characters in and out of our lives to heal us, to help us, to sharpen us and to temper us. Oh beloved, when you give your life to Christ, every single chapter is His! He has bought your manuscript, redeemed it from the rubble of self and He’s working to make it a magnificent novel! Others will read the story of your life along the way and be strengthened by every situation you persevered through. They will also become more loving as they see you love God no matter what. They will also learn to trust the Editor for their own lives because your story paints a beautiful picture of God’s redeeming love and eternal care. Trust God today and turn your story over to Him. He can take even what was meant for evil and turn it for good. He will take you from ordinary to extraordinary as He edits and rewrites and makes new every single chapter. He loves you and He’s for you and that makes Him worth trusting! Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. Jeremiah 10:23 LORD, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps. (NIV) Psalm 32:8 I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. (Amplified) Psalm 37:23 The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
