An awesome morning speaking to some high school graduates. I shared how I became an entrepreneur...my journey of exploration that led to my decisions to do less of the things that brought me discontent and angst, AND more of the things that brought me joy and satisfaction. I turned them into a company and now get to make money doing what I LOVE. I shared that they never can lose sight of their Why if they want to be successful. Pay checks are great. But if its about the paycheck, clients will eventually catch on and discover you are not vested in them- but in their wallets. WHY are you pursuing a career? WHY does it make you happy? You will make more money if you stick to the authenticity of what drives you in the first place. And finally, I offered that you cannot lose sight of your priorities in the pursuit of success. Family, friendship, wellness, spirituality ...these have to be acknowledged and taken care of simultaneously. The most successful people align their actions with their priorities. Life is not work. Work is part of life. Life is living fully. Good luck to ALL seniors in your various pursuits. The future is exciting and its yours.
