An elder black woman pulled up in the spot next to us as we were leaving the grocery store this evening. She got out of her car and smiled at me while I was putting the grocery into the trunk of our car. I smiled back and said good evening. She then asked if I liked tomatoes... My brother brought me some from his garden and Its way too many for me. Would you like some? She asked. I happily assented and she pulled out a bag FULL and told me to take what I wanted. I took a few and then thanked her. She responded my pleasure and after placing the bag back into her car proceeded into the store. Two very clear lessons presented themselves to me in this exchange tonight. 1) Be kind where possible. Kindness begets kindness. By simply returning her smile she felt comfortable enough to offer me of the goods she had. 2) Abundance is all around us. It is our attitude and willingness to receive that keep us from it. #Selah #CosmicContemplations
