An elderly gentleman met an ENT doctor at a dinner party. Hey doc, wonder if you can give me some advice? Seems the wife is losing her hearing. Whenever Im in a different room and talk to her, she doesnt respond to me. Id be happy to evaluate her, said the doctor, but before you bring her in, I would like you to conduct a little test at home to give me a good idea of her range of hearing. Heres what I want you to do. Stand a distance away from her and talk to her. If she doesnt respond, keep walking towards her, speaking to her until she hears you. Then, Let me know how far you are from her when she responds. So the next day the husband decides to try the test on her. While she is in the kitchen, he goes into the living room, 30 away, and asks Honey, whats for dinner? Nothing. So he walks 10 closer and asks her again, sweetie what are you cooking? Nothing again. He walks another 10 closer to her and asks, what smells so good? And yet again, NOTHING. Finally, he goes right up to her, puts his arms around her and says, into her ear, whats cooking, good looking? Now she responds...FOR THE FOURTH TIME, HAROLD, ROASTED CHICKEN!
