An endorsement from Matt Oswald, Math Teacher, Mahtomedi High School: Fourteen years ago, my wife and I moved to the Mahtomedi School District to raise our family and continue our careers as educators. We are proud to be part of this community and our children attend Mahtomedi Schools. The education and caring experienced by our children is second to none. On November 4th, residents will be asked to approve a levy to support the children of the district. As a resident, parent and Mahtomedi High School math teacher, I am going to vote yes. Without support on November 4th, our district will be forced to cut teachers, raise class sizes and possibly eliminate AP programs, music, art, media, physical education, world language and extracurricular opportunities. As a high school teacher, I know these losses will affect our students’ futures, including college choices. Residents should be proud and trust the district. The unprecedented results were just released: according to the Minnesota Department of Education - Mahtomedi is #1 in Math, #1 in Reading, and #1 in Science. We must continue our financial support of the district. I encourage residents to value our children, their education, and their future. Vote Yes for Our Kids, Our Community.
