An enrichment piñata is a colourful shape made with papier-mâché and has a hollow centre. The piñata is filled with straw and then food treats are stuffed inside. By given the animals their food this way it encourages them to use their 5 senses: Smell – They will be able to smell there food inside the piñata Taste – Tasty treats inside (The food is taken from their diet) Touch – Holding, touching the piñata Sight - Bright colours and shape of the piñata Sound – The noise it makes whilst trying to get the food out! Our piñatas are made with our animals in mind so we use plain paper and flour and water mixed as glue, so if they did digest the piñatas it will not give them an upset stomach! Help us make spooky enrichment piñatas for our animals during the Halloween Spooktacular fortnight! Drop in to the Indoor Picnic Area between 11am and 3pm from the 20th to the 31st October to take part.
