An epic little 3 day vacation/adventure with my lovely wife and kids! 700+ miles round trip. Day 1: Coos Canyon - awesome afternoon swimming and checking out the gift shop followed by a great drive through Western Maine into The White Mountains National Park to Jefferson NH to our campground Ft. Jefferson Campground at the base of Mt. Washington. Night one.. crazy thunderstorms.... kids playing cards in the tent..great night. Woke up to some guy named hurricane Arthur apparently on day 2... TENT bone dry! Kudos to my wife for that purchase. So we decided to drive to Boston and go to the New England Aquarium. Long drive through the windy White Mountains in the rain and fog all the way south to Boston where we took the kids on the T from Wellington Station to the aquarium where we stood in line over an hour in the rain for tickets ONLY TO FIND OUT... my corporate discount gave me VIP access and I could have just gone in to the information desk upon arrival... sorry again Jolene E Thurlow! Spent most of the afternoon there.. What a place... the turtle is huge. On the way back the kids saw their first moose only about a mile from our campground. Woke up this morning to cold and wind but once again the weather would not deter us! We packed up the tent site and went to Ft. Jefferson Fun Park where the kids spent the first part of the afternoon riding all the rides and when it warmed up a little went on the water slides. It warmed up a bit and finally cleared off to allow great views of Mt. Washington so we decided to take nice drive through them to North Conway to visit the outlet mall. On the way there we took Rt 302 through Crawford Notch and the views on that road are unreal. Spent a few hours shopping at the outlet mall in North Conway and made it back home a short while ago. Great 3 days... despite the weather!
