An episode of week long continued illness sends me into a state of some deep pondering ( oh don`t be so surprised....i am prone to pondering on bigger questions of life and seeking their answers .....I believe it`s the sagittarian trait...u know,the centaurs...gazing at the stars(not literally) and to make sense of the universe in general blah blah..). Anyways,what kick started it was a fever and cold due to a throat infection which in turn led to an ear infection (symptoms of which basically feels like I was in an aeroplane, flying through highly turbulent weather causing a severe case of negative air pressure on my eardrums... BUT my clogged ear refuses to pop,even after one week...trust me when i say this ...if both the ears are blocked u possess some semblance of balance but when only one is affected,having to tilt & turn your head so that u can listen to what people are saying to you,with the one ear which is still functioning kinda looks/feels like the famous gandhian gesture of turning your other cheek ...its like a slap invitation card,luckily my family members dont have my brand of sense of humour ..plus when this particular realization occurs in midst of a serious conversation causing you to smile at your own dry humour...ummm...it`s awkward!!....and if u try using headphones in such a state,even the most beautifully voiced song sounds like altaf raja singing in midst of a coughing fit!!). So, while suffering through the illness I am exasperated-ly wondering -what was God thinking,,,making such important functions/organs so Co - dependant??. I mean, the bloody noggin is overcrowded!!! u administer eye drops, u can taste it at the back of ur throat....same in case of nasal drops.....u offend the throat, and soon the nose and the ears starts protesting...why couldn`t he just allocate them some personal chambers/cavity??? Then like,after every question that I ask myself, I construe a possible answer all by myself too...hmmmmm,, maybe the human anatomy is designed to be a divine lesson for living life itself (no pun intended).....maybe what the ear/nose/throat/eyes/uvula/tonsils etc etc and their shared suffering says is- appreciate freedom...yours and others....give each other some space ....too much of co-dependency is not healthy because intruding each other`s personal space means you will be affected by every twinge,twitch and spasm that the other person experiences,even when it can be avoided and is simply unnecessary. Dear God, i have uncovered the truth u wanted me to learn...now will u please heal my throat so it doesn`t feel like i accidently swallowed hairpins and they are lodged at the back of my throat and also, can i have the functioning of my right ear back???(coz otherwise,with all this tilting of my head,i might as well be morphing into a bird!!!) Ha! i knew there was a another explanation(apart from the obvious) for the existence of the blood- brain barrier.......u see, how else would u think and understand these hidden truths, if the nasty infections render your thinking organ useless????
