An established and growing Electronics company is looking to recruit an Operations Controller on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be an experienced Production / Process Engineer or a recent Engineering graduate with the ability to develop in the role. Commutable from: Stratford-upon-Avon, Evesham, Redditch, Banbury, Coventry, Alcester, Leamington, Warwick Salary: £ 25,000 - £ 30,000 p.a. plus benefits Suitable for: Operations Controller, Production Engineer, Process Engineer, Operations Manager, Continuous Improvement Engineer The Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director youll be tasked with improving business processes and process mapping the flow of work throughout the business. Review and map current work flow Consult with managers and gain their suggestions for improvement Draw up a plan to raise efficiency / profitability in the business MRP system improvements Stores and parts management Job costings - tracking of current jobs to improve quotation accuracy Project tracking and integration of design and production tracking ISO compliance - calibration dates etc to be tracked Suggest capex based improvements - research new equipment for potential investment which would increase efficiency / staffing levels Vertical integration of wiring and sub-assemblies Manage the intranet to show current work load and progress for whole teams information Work closely with the managers of the design, purchasing, production and accounts departments to ensure multiple projects are completed on time to budget. Attend and run regular management meetings addressing issues and offering solutions Standard hours are Mon-Thurs 8:00-17:00, Fri 8:00 - 13:30 with flexibility required. The Person Previous experience of production / process engineering / business processes / CI An engineering degree or HND is preferred (Electronics not essential) Initiative, drive, self-motivation, creativity and commercial awareness Ability to communicate well at all levels, overseeing work methods and working with management Able to manage a busy workload with shifting priorities IT literate - work with external companies on the intranet etc, database maintenance etc Have the vision to picture where the business will be and the effects of improvements made For the right candidate there will be the potential to progress to Operations Manager as the company grows.
