An example letter sent to all my reps: -------------- Sir; I am MSgt Patrick McKimmie, active duty with the US Air Force. I have just been assigned to ***** in ***** and have moved into the area, District **. I am experiencing a severe problem, as are many other service members, with the DoDs new contract to ship our personally owned vehicles (POVs) to and from our overseas assignments. International Auto Logistics, owned by an individual with ties to the North Korean regime, took over the contract in April/May of this year. Since then, they have lost and delayed the POVs of many service members transferring to and from overseas assignments. As you are aware, a change of station move (PCS) is extremely stressful already to a member and their families. It also requires quite a bit of out of pocket expenses. So as you can see, not having my vehicle when it was promised (they said they had to deliver it by 25 July under their contract) adds to our costs. Per their contract, I can only get a rental reimbursed for $30 a day. That is, at best, a compact car. I have three pets, luggage, a wife and a son. How am I to fit that in a compact car? International Auto Logistics has a tracking website that they do not update. My Jeep has been on a truck from Houston to Dallas for over two weeks. They rarely answer their phones and never answer their emails when I make inquiries. A Facebook page was started by other military members to share experiences and ideas. It is at almost 1000 people and has only been active a few weeks. The stories are scary to say the least. Here is the link: https://facebook/groups/1451241371794935/?fref=nf I am very concerned. Where is my Jeep? Why is the military making contracts with people that have business with a country we have poor relations with and constantly threatens our safety? It is my sincerest hope that your office looks into this and stands up for us military members. Were in bad shape, and no one seems to be concerned. Please help. Thank you. ---------------- To get contact information for your reps: house.gov/representatives/find/ senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm If you dont take the time to write, they dont know its a problem.
