Dear BBC The reason that we are protesting today is the pro Israel bias systematically shown by the BBC news reports. The coverage of the current murderous attack on Gaza by Israel follows the pattern. The list of complaints is far too long to be contained in a letter like this. When we complain against, even the most obvious, bias we are met with bureaucratic obstruction. So we will list here four items that are true that the BBC seems incapable of publically accepting. 1. Israel is the aggressor. It is stealing Palestinian lands and water. It demolishes Palestinian houses. It shows a callous disregard for Palestinian lives. It has kidnapped and holds thousands of Palestinians in prisons. 2. Israel is a racist state. There are over 50[i] Israeli laws that discriminate against Palestinians. Even an ex Israeli Ambassador calls it an Apartheid State[ii]. By seizing Palestinian lands Israel is making or has already made, a two state solution impossible. It refuses to contemplate a single state solution with equal rights for all. 3. Hamas was democratically elected in 2006. Using any measure, deaths of civilians, deaths of children, number of demolished houses, deaths of soldiers, kidnappings, attacks on fishermen, attacks on farmers, Israel is more terrorist than Hamas. 4. The West gives military, economic and diplomatic support to Israel. The BBC never questions British politicians why they side with a racist state and why they sell arms to it.
