An excellent explanation by my friend Adolphus Belk who describes what it is like to be black in America. When I arrived in Maryland in 1996, I did not get it. But thanks to my patient colleagues like Adolphus, Antoinette, Bernard and many neighbors, my understanding improved. Adolphus is right: We can be better and it will take a struggle. Shoutout to my Maryland peeps: Tim and Virginia. Please, tack other Marylanders.
