An excellent musical interpretation of Ecce Puer by James Joyce The inner child, the little boy that every man carries from his early years, by and by forsaking it, to prove oneself a man; When awakened soul recognizes itself once, that in age, it may become the father to the past, and then at the end, both the old man perhaps nearing his own end sheds a tear over the child, nurturing it to sleep, whispering do not worry, there is no death, everything will be fine. I am my own father, as I am my own child, thus we part to meet again at the very end. The cycle is closed. The recognition enough.
