An excerpt from my book...as you can see sustainability is about a lot more than "being green". Once I became so fed up with my miserable life and my suicidal default system in my brain, I got to work trying to just feel better. Once I learned how to cultivate good feelings when things got tough, instead of falling down the black hole of pain, then I started to realize that loving, growing and evolving maybe IS enough. And even better than that, once I learned that the universe has my back and while I can make plans, even bigger and better plans await, that is when I started to have faith that the universe wants the best for me (even though sometimes the growing involves pain and the loving stings). That is when I started to believe that there is a point to all of this and it is a good enough reason to keep on living my best life. Even if I don’t know exactly what our grander evolution is meant for, it’s a nice surprise that I can look forward to. Maybe one day I will know, but until then it’s a mystery that I’m O.K. with. I like that the universe has big plans for us.
