An excerpt from my memoir(summary) As many as 16 years ago or more, Inadvertently commenced my economics journey in abid to get a 4th subject to add to the offered PCM. To many - I have been dubbed a guvnor in making, young economist, excellent student among others . This is a subject that Reluctantly I undertook it but the turning point was my first lecture where we were taught scarcity, choice making guided by scale of preference and opportunity cost. Moral of story is - when you fall, it aint the end ( this story can be told by steve jobs, bill gates, mike Jordan, eisten,etc). Incidentally best economists including my favorite Keynes, Friedman, etc they were mathematicians or engineers .Fast forward I missed out on engineering (sadly didnt emulate my elder brother Stephen Twinoburyo ) who was my mentor and idol. I got economics as second choice and while my parents opted to pay for my engineering course, I took a choice guided by the same economic principles. The journey at campus was awesome, and I excelled while helping others pass. To fellow students - I was epic, subsequently to my students when retained at campus- I was intricate. Same message I get from my current students- why lecture the hard course units. At my masters level( thanks to aerc for scholarship) I got globalized- I was taught By a stream of lecturers from all over the world and studied with Ethiopians , Ghanaians, Nigerians, Malawians , Zimbabweans, Kenyans, Tanzanians among others . Just like many others, I passed - my peers are all over UNECA, IMF, universities , many PHDs , amongst others including exec director of research of Liberian central bank, etc. The detail of the 2 year journey at masters in Dar, the SwOt analysis can be found In my memoir at 30k in books. I have further details on the 8 years that followed professionally in the economics realm. I am still chasing the dream many have for me- Guvnor bank of UGanda at some point. I sometime joked with the guvnor TM about it, he provided his endorsement... Join in prayer than in years to come , i sit at the helm of this policy institution.
