An experimental Ebola serum arrived in Liberia to help Dr. Kent Brantly. But According to Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse, Dr. Brantly sacrificed the chance to undergo the treatment hoping it could instead save one of his colleagues. Samaritans Purse is asking for prayers, and were able to announce that Brantly has received a unit of blood from an Ebola survivor which may buy him time. The survivor, a young boy, wanted to help Brantly because the doctor had cared for him and helped him survive the virus previously. It isnt known where the serum came from, as several are in development, including one Canada had been working on. Samaritans Purse is stressing that safety is the top priority and they are working with the WHO and CDC to help. The virus is extremely fatal; around 90% of its victims do not survive. -Alex K-LOVE Radio NBC News World
