An extraordinary story unfolded last month when Sound - TopicsExpress

An extraordinary story unfolded last month when Sound Experience’s office received a call from an 87-year-old gentleman in the San Francisco area. Alfred R. “Nick” Lemos told us, “I think I have your bell.” It’s a once-in-a-lifetime kind of story that has since resonated down the West Coast and beyond. As you can imagine, were astounded that Adventuress bell has returned to her a century after it went missing. It was this bell that sounded in 1913 in East Boothbay, Maine when Adventuress was launched, when she passed through the Straits of Magellan, when she traveled up the West Coast on her way to the Arctic, and when the Bar Pilots bought her just a year after her maiden voyage. If bells could talk… We are eternally grateful to the Lemos family for so generously returning this incredible piece of Adventuress history. Like Adventuress herself, the bell now belongs “not to one, but to all.”
