An important article highlighting the lack of infrastructure development in remote communities of Ra Province. Remote communities own the majority of Fijis pristine natural resources and retain important traditional knowledge. If these communities continue to struggle in meeting their basic needs, they will resort to engaging in short-term economic gains at a great cost to their environment and culture. Urban drift is breeding more squatters settlements, overcrowded urban schools and poor nutrition and living conditions.
