Violence and looting occur from a very small minority of people (including government agents meant to sideline social movements) and do not represent the vast majority of good people seeking a more just and fair United States. And know this. Americans WILL reform policing in our country so that members of law enforcement are returned to their role as constructive servants of the citizenry - to honor, protect and defend them- and as positive members of the communities where they work. If our elected government officials lack the integrity or courage to take this project on, they will be removed from office. Moreover, leaders outside of government will take charge to bring about the culture change in policing we need. Todays all-too-too frequent police acting as militarized occupying forces bullying the public under color of authority will come to an end. We will not let up until that happens.
