An important message for those in High River: Please read and pass on. I would ask that you relay this information to those who ask: - It is not safe to return to the town. Currently, the town’s sewage and waste water system is not functioning and we only have very limited fresh water supply. - The town is under a boil water advisory. - There is no food, no medicine, no electricity and no fuel. - Emergency response is limited. Traveling within and around the community of High River is dangerous. - Although not all parts of the community were directly affected, the town’s critical infrastructure has been compromised. The cleanup will be vast and immense. I cannot overstate this. This will take time. I know that some of our neighbours to the north are re-entering their homes. High River is in a very different position and I need your help sharing this message with your friends, families and neighbours. We are working to restore basic services to High River, but this will take time and we implore our residents to be patient. You need to know this is a public safety issue. If we could let residents enter, we would, but we need to ensure the infrastructure is sound before we can do that.
