An important message from the commodore: The Red Dragon Executive Board met recently to discuss the options open to the club for securing its future, to assemble a list of questions that remain unanswered about each of those options and to plan how to find answers. I’m pleased to report that after an active conversation, the board members took responsibility for finding answers, each in a specific category. As a result, you can expect within the next couple of weeks to receive a survey. The questions in the survey will attempt to elicit from the general membership the likelihood that one or all of several options will result in a means to raise the funds needed for immediate repair of the Shipman Mansion. The board will, during their February 5 meeting, assemble the answers that are found and will report on those answers during the following General Membership Meeting. I would like to thank the seven board members who made it to the meeting and an equal number of members who came to observe. Those members were afforded an opportunity to express themselves on the approaches under consideration and to make suggestions, all of which helped focus the work of the board. Doug Campbell
