An indictment on us (Christians) and the Christian Church. This is wildly rampant in our Faith today. I submit this isnt real Christianity but rather a counterfeit !! Eddie ***No longer martyrs - that is witnesses - to Gods unique intervention in history in Christs incarnation, life, death and resurrection, we become satisfied customers who offer testimonials to how much a personal relationship with Jesus has improved our life. In this pragmatic and therapeutic context, it makes little sense to talk about Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life apart from whom there is no salvation. We would rather commend Christ as someone whom we have found personally helpful and meaningful as we encounter lifes challenges. The process of secularization is far more pervasive than theological differences between conservatives and liberals. It is NOT Secular Humanist BUT WE OURSELVES who are secularizing the faith by transforming its odd message into something less jarring to the American psyche. This may mean, however, that precisely the most numerically successful versions of religion will be the LEAST TETHERED TO THE BIBLICAL DRAMA OF REDEMPTION CENTERING ON CHRIST!! *** (Christless Christianity)
