The History of The Armidale Military Camp:- From The Tamworth Daily Observer, Friday 10 September 1915: ARMIDALE NEWS. ARMIDALE Thursday. Another 50 men left the local depot camp for Sydney under Lieutenant Lazer. Today word was received from headquarters In Sydney that the strength of the camp had been doubled to 400. Today 183 men were in camp. Recruiting at Armidale during the last few days shows a slight falling off, though today there was again a rise, 14 passing the doctor out of 15.
