An interesting 1960s folktale from Czechoslovakia There was a small village plagued by Tigers. In recent years the tiger population had quadrupled and thus they were coming out of the jungle and attacking and eating the cattle and villagers. The tigers showed no mercy and slowly many started to leave the small village. So the village elders hired hunters to come and thin out the tiger population. They came and they did just that. And all the people cheered. But the hunters did not leave. They continued to kill tigers until there were none left. Not satisfied, the hunters began killing other animals until nothing moved in the jungle. Whereupon, finding no more animals to kill, the hunters attacked the cattle but they never harmed the people. But without the cattle the villagers began to starve. Finally the people had had enough and complained to the village elders about the hunters, but were told Do not criticize the hunters. Remember, they saved us from the tigers.. ----- The Folktale(story) was about the Communists. Replace the Tiger with Nazis and Hunters with Communists.
