An interesting and full week thus far... Friends Gained. Friends Lost. A week of introspection and reflection. And with all of this a song keeps coming to mind. I can recall the first time hearing it. Unaware of the message in lyrics Yet deeply affected through the voices of the instruments & arrangement Each setting a tone. Each delivering their point of view. Each communicating a unique and specific perspective and feeling. The more I listened in the last few years The more I understood my draw to this piece. The more I understood my disconnect to it in the beginning. I picked up my voice and explored the voices in this song. And the more a sang, danced, and explored, with my fingers The more I identified with each instruments perspective. To the point I found my self dancing and singing through each of them. The piano, the bass, and a lot of the strings. A week or experiences. A life time of memories Carefully preserved in the heart of my hands. Think I need to get in touch with Howard Jones See if maybe we can play together the next time he stops in.
