An interesting day with the birds :) Today was a drum birthing workshop for a client on her Shamanic practitioner course. 1st encounter, she told me she was a little early so popped over to the Watermill looking to see what plants they had, seemed she couldnt find any, however, she saw a golden eagle above (Theres one missing locally and hes been spotted a few times) We had just finished the drum and taking a few pics when I looked out the window of the Cabin and there was a beautiful little bird, a goldfinch, feeding off the dried flower heads of lavender in one of the pots in the garden. We took a break for lunch and watched the starlings, sparrows, blackbirds, and pigeons feeding off the bird feeders, not bad considering we have two cats! After the short afternoon session completed and my client left as I returned back into the garden on my way to clear up the cabin I had to stop and look at a bird in a tree near the bottom of the garden, it almost looked like a pigeon but was far too slim, as it turned its head I realised it was a raptor and with a bit of research turns out it was a sparrow-hawk, of course, 1 step closer and it immediately flew off away from me! Shortly afterwards my son popped round to tell me all about his interview and job offer and whether to take it or not and we saw more birds on the feeders including blue tits, and a robin, then the usual pair of noisy magpies turn up and scavenge around on the ground picking up what the others drop or throw away. Reminding me its https://rspb.org.uk/birdwatch/ this weekend, have you registered yet?
