An interesting historical footnote in all this, is that private health insurance came about as a union-busting move because employers found out that union-provided health insurance did what Obamacare does, in that it removed some of the leverage that management held against labor, allowing for labor to be more mobile, making the leave option of like it or leave a viable choice for many where it was just a poor, theoretical talking point before.
