An interesting idea. What about a new social contract? A new new deal, where we expanded social programs. Medicaid for everyone. Do you support it? How about social security for everyone? A guaranteed minimum income. Maybe an idea whose time has come? What if we coupled that with compulsory community service? A service to your country where you had a choice to serve in health care, education, the environment, or defense. Would a fleet of Certified nurses assistants bring down the cost of health care? What about teaching assistants for every teacher? A new C.C.C. to invest in our National Parks and combat climate change? A what about bringing back the citizen soldier, a person with a moral sensibility is different from a mercenary? Young people and old could learn skills outside of school and go into service after high school instead of low paying corporate jobs or student loan debt. If we all invested in our country, our country might invest in all of us.
