An interesting job overnight with the police helicopter being above Halls Head helping search for an armed crook. Whilst helping the search the helicopter was targeted by someone using a green laser. This is extremely dangerous as it can blind the pilot and cause the aircraft to crash. Obviously the person with the laser wasn’t as bright as the laser itself because the light points in both directions, it was pretty clear where it was coming from. The helicopter crew began to record what was happening and where the light was coming from and later the address was visited by the Mandurah Police. During a search a laser pointer was located and a 39 year old Mandurah man will now front the Mandurah court to explain his actions and why he not only hampered the search for an armed offender, he also put the lives of others at risk.
