An interesting link from Ralph Boulton concerning his personal #NHS and #PHSO nightmare. my conclusion after dealing with the health ombudsman is that he/she poses a danger to patients by encouraging a mood of complacency among some areas of the medical profession. my childs treatment at Great Ormond Street was so bad that we had to take him out and have him treated elsewhere. . we turned to the ombudsman who exonerated the hospital even from mistakes it said itself it had made. it described our sons treatment as generally good, refused to investigate fully and declined to answer our challenges about palpably incorrect assertions he had made. herewith a link to a story my wife and I wrote for the FT. i think the story tells itself. the treatment was by no standard, except perhaps that of the ombudsman, good and consistent. A full investigation was declined. ft/…/53bd6388-59f7-11e2-b728-00144feab49a.ht… Failing Max - FT Last weekend my 13-year-old son celebrated an important anniversary. There was no party, no presents and no speeches. Two years ago, in Paris, Max underwent successful brain surgery. Yet I cannot help but feel sad that he was cured not at Great FT.COM
