An interesting quote?: I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love. - Mother Theresa Unfortunately, no context was provided with the quote but I have to wonder if that really applies in cases when a persons love is rejected? I imagine, though I dont know for sure, that when Mother Theresa gave her love to those whom she ministered to that those who received it had or gained some affection for her in return? Its possible that perhaps that wasnt the case though. I know when showing kindness to others who were in need, regardless of my motivation, that at least sometimes there was a lack of thankfulness (even in the most dire of cases) and even a selfish demand for a particular kind of help or means of being helped. Even a desperate homeless person may ultimately get that way. Im thankful, that in my experience of homelessness that I had/received an attitude of thankfulness for whatever help I received. It wasnt that I was physically crippled and unable to do anything for myself for I was able to take care of packing up, renting a truck, moving my stuff and assuming a sense of normalcy to the extent that I even went to a Friday night church gathering - not saying a word about my circumstances. Why? Pride and shame, probably, to be caught in a situation that perhaps many others face themselves. To be working for a bad employer (a security company that will not be named) who largely caused the initial environment that led to becoming homeless; it didnt help that a friend was the one who further brought about the homeless circumstances (we were roommates that ended up falling out with each other). Now to be sure, I take responsibility and did take responsibility for my actions in that situation but it really was an injustice what happened and all the landlord could/would do was stand by helplessly. He was kind enough to bring me something to eat and drink while I packed up though. Certainly the quote by Mother Theresa provides food for thought and prayer. Blessings to everyone, wherever you may be....
