An invocation to Lugh by Reverend Kathleen Pezza: Invocation of Lugh Lugh, prophecy’s child, Borne of a woman, Bewitched and beguiled. Thrown in the sea, A try to circumvent fate. One son of three, Left to end abuse and hate. Lugh, the Sea God’s child, Carried by waves, To lands fair and mild. Taught all the arts, Of warfare, learning and skill. To play all the parts, His destiny to fulfill. Lugh, Danu’s lost child, Came to the door, Ildánach was styled. Singer of songs, With strength of body and mind, He did no wrongs, And earned the kingship in kind. Lugh, Balor’s grandchild, Came to the field, Fought those he reviled. Stood on one foot, And slung a stone with one eye, Balor he put, To death, with that single try. Lugh, the raven child, Bringer of rain, To summer run wild. Bringer of life, To crops in field and on vine, Offerings rife, We give to you Lugh, divine.
