An ode to the Mega Bash on 11 October A few more hours then off we set Out to Fergs on a silver jet Lots of friends and fans to meet This party’s gonna be so sweet A season of some ups and downs, Laughs and good times with some frowns But we’ll be back again next year To watch our Rays kick into gear The mega bash, its nearly time So time for this final piece of rhyme To cheer you up and make you smile Before we party on in style A time to thank the special friends Who cheered me up and made amends When games were lost on a missed ground ball It’s just a ball game after all With thanks to Heather, James, Zeb and Mark Without you I would not embark On a special trip to meet you all I’d stay right here in this rainfall I’ve met a few of you before Mad Mac and Ferg on the dance floor To Linda, Bob and Steffan too I’m coming back to have round 2 Kathy, Heather and their brood Visited me and 2 games we viewed It was fun to share the Thistly ale I hope see it in Fergs on sale Marc came round with Joe and Pete More local fans for us to meet We had a famous skype with Jim Blackout games can affect him To those I have still yet to meet Your friendship might just make me greet We’ve had some times on here this year With laughs and banter so sincere To those who’ve helped to make this real You’ve let us know just how you feel The tartan rays wont bring shampoo But will bring some gifts as a small thank you The case is packed with gifts and kilt I hope the beer does not get spilt But if it does then on we go Cheering for the one Longo Thanks for sharing a special year I hope to split with you all a beer With friendship from across the pond The Rays being our common bond See you all Saturday folks, here’s to a very special day. #thetartanrays
