An old friend -Stephen Weinstock, wonderful musician, composer, performer, writer, teacher - is in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign for a massive book project that hes been working on for years and is finally making a reality. Hes nearly reached his goal - but I know how Kickstarter campaigns can go, and though hes still got days to go, one never wants a campaign to stall near the finish line. Its a fascinating and worthy project - and the goodies hes offering as incentives sound like fun (e.g. a Tarot Reading about your current and past lives - & even if youre not in the NYC area, maybe there could be a Tarot reading via Skype). One thing - for those who check out his Kickstarter page - Steve is many things - but one thing he is NOT is a filmmaker. (He knows Im adding this caveat.) He does add a cute touch that seems to have been inspired by the Dylan/Ginsberg video for Subterranean Homesick Blues that opens Dont Look Back. (If you know Dylans video youll know what I mean when you see Steves.) But overall the visuals and editing leave a little to be desired. But this isnt funding a movie - its funding a book - and that part looks really cool. So check it out.
