An old woman, very poor looking, with barely any teeth came up to me today as I was eating breakfast at my current school, Uconn. She says to me May I borrow a dollar or two? knowing already that borrowing actually meant give me. I said to her I cannot lend you any money but I can give you money for you to eat and shelter yourself in a warm place, or give you my sweater I had to walk up to the caff. with her and asked her what she wanted to eat, to then pay for it.... And then found many students staring at me for doing this... The satisfaction you gain from giving..greatest feeling...that you know you are doing something for a good cause, the needy, it is such a great feeling that not many people do now a day without an interest. And then my friends ask me..why do I always give more to the other person than I can actually give to myself.. Well 1. although we are taught to be selfish, you find that your emotions suddenly turn into a positive mood (very good for your health being) 2. Although you may say, well they can go and seek for a job and provide for themselves, you may find that these people may have a condition that prevents them from getting a job, and these are the people who tend to be rejected by society, (many dont see that. 3. The blessings we receive from such acts are countless. God is always looking..and testing..Notice that when you give more than you take, you actually end up taking more than you give...Just saying.. :)
