An organisation called The Animal Connection are trying to buy the old Franklin Zoo so that they can create an animal sanctuary open to the public. They describe it as a precious place where people and animals nurture each other. It sounds like a fantastic project and they are running a crowdfunding campaign over three months to raise NZ$2.9 million to save the old Franklin Zoo site forever. Check out their video for more.
