An unseasonably cold airmass moved over Southcentral Alaska - TopicsExpress

An unseasonably cold airmass moved over Southcentral Alaska overnight resulting in a drop in the freezing level to around 1,500ft. The precipitation with this storm changed to snow along the Upper Hillside and over an inch of snow has fallen above 2,000 feet. Snow will continue for the next couple of hours along the Upper Hillside and we expect a total accumulation of around 3 inches. The snow is not expected to last long as daytime heating will rapidly melt it this afternoon. People are urged to use extreme caution while driving along the Upper hillside due to the slick wet conditions.
