An unsolicited e-mail regarding Last weekends Mundesley Louis - TopicsExpress

An unsolicited e-mail regarding Last weekends Mundesley Louis Armstrong Jazz Festival. This really makes it all worthwhile! Dear John Had to dash off on Monday so no chance to thank you for another superb jazzfest. It was, quite simply, superb - the best yet - so thank you for organising such a treat for your audience. Whats so wonderful about JP jazzfests is that theres a divine balance thats perfectly in the moment. Its the age and generational blend, the presence of lady jazzistes (although more lady vocalists would be nice), and the unique music produced by individual stars leading groups and playing together perhaps for the first time. It means that every performance is fresh, spontaneous and unique. The players are challenged and they seem to enjoy it too, judging by the expertise on show, the jokey chat and the marvellous music. For instance, how privileged were we to witness the scintillating chemistry of Pete Allen and Amy Roberts as their instrurments argued and shouted at each other then calmed down and joined in with the rest of the awesome band. Pure heaven - love to see that on U-tube. Something else that is very appreciated by your audience is the house rule of no saving seats with coats and papers, as is done elsewhere. Someone told me he didnt go to Sand Bay for that reason and asked how youd managed to stop it. I said that you just made an announcement and people complied. Apparently John Long had tried that at Sand Bay but the dancers ignored it. We are of course an older audience, largely watchers and listeners, not dancers and talkers. Everyone has an equal chance to get the seat they like if they choose to go without pudding as I and others tend to do........ .... Finally, I was so energised by the fabulous jazzfest that Ive done a prompt second and final write-up of Mundesley on Trip Advisor (as I did for Stratford) which has been accepted and should appear on the website in the next few days. It was, of course, the best jazzfest ever - but with Bracklesham Bay coming up in September and at least two other non-JP jazzfests, who knows? Good luck with all your jazzfests, jazz cruise, and all of your undertakings this summer. You, your family and team are wonderful at keeping jazz alive and flowing. With thanks again and joy and wishing you high energy levels........ A big thank you to all the musicians who made it happen. It is so nice when the customers show their appreciation. Ive had quite a number of similar e-mails this week. Theyve made a happy man very old!
