An unusual vagrant was spotted by Giovanni Rose’s keen eyes when he saw an interesting bird swooping over the houses on Picard. The bird was later confirmed by Adrian Seychelles Bird Records Committee (SBRC) that the visiting bird was an African Palm Swift (Cypsiurus parvus,) probably the race gracilis of Madagascar. There have only been two previous records of this species in Seychelles, one of which was on Aldabra, so this was an exciting moment for the research team! (© C Onezia)
