An up date on my dad... most of my friends know him a Mr. Holt or Coach Holt. Dad is well know for all he did in Hot Stove baseball! If you lived in Alliance and played baseball during the 70s to early 90s chances are you know him. We have had some big set backs with him over the last month or so. The week before last he was admitted into Aultman hospital and from there he was placed in a rehabilitation center! He has been refusing his meds and now I have been place a full POA... its a tough spot to be in with 7 siblings and only 1 of them agreeing with my decisions for my dad. But with my younger brother and myself being the only ones to care for dad since all this started last October, we have no intention on letting this nasty disease go un-noticed! To all my friends who also deal with this, I feel hopeless and helpless, I pray for my dad and for you daily that things go easy. They say this disease is a disease for the smartest of people but watching a sharp mind go is nothing less than heartbreaking. I will enjoy every glimpse or sparkle of when this disease gives my dad back to me even if its only minutes here and there because I know one day he will never be the man I knew as dad...
