An update for you all on how Brackens (the dog who we videod with the horse) training is going: Bracken is doing really well. Weve been visiting Greenham virtually every day to get him on target with odd people training, and keeping calm when seeing dogs...which he doesnt always get to meet. Usually we will encounter a jogger or two as well. We actually went for a long walk there with our neighbour and her 2 mth old baby. Think this was the first time Bracken has been on a walk with a buggy involved, and he was very well behaved. We even got lucky enough to see two horses running past (twice) which he handled really well and was actively looking from the horses to Mags with the treats. He is doing this also with people...if he spots someone hell look in their direction then back to us for a treat. I think this is a good new game for him :) We took him to Greenham on Saturday morning and had the surprise of being able to do lots of jogger training, as there was a fun run or something happening. We stayed at a reasonable distance and walked up and down with Bracken seeing them all. He approached some and walked away from others (depending on what direction they/we were heading). I think he must have seen about 30-40 joggers, and they were staggered in groups of 2-4 at a time. By the end of it we must have been about 5 or so meters away from some of them. And there was not one single lunge or bark!!! He was taking treats and happy to play seek for the treats as well. The last two joggers we saw (females) looked like they knew it was training as one of them called a happy hello which got Brackens attention as she jogged past. I think at this point we might have been grinning like idiots :D We are all enjoying the walks a lot more these days and our confidence is building. From Mags, Lian and Bracken...
