An update from Australia. I apologize for not getting this to you all sooner. I cannot count on both hands how many times I thought my mother was about to depart this earth in the last week and a half every nurse and doctor that has seen her in her home in the last week are scratching their heads. She had essentially been in a vegetative state since September 15, however, yesterday she woke up declaring that she wanted some grapes and orange juice and that she was thirsty. She has a difficult time chewing and swallowing and her speech is at times nearly impossible to understand but she has been taken off the morphine and is relatively stable condition currently. Now, who knows what tomorrow will bring but she is still fighting. Take her lead and fight fight fight for what you believe in and what you want out of life. It may not always work but at least you cant say you didnt give it everything you had. Her spirit and will to live exceeds anything I would ever expect. Keep the positive thoughts coming. It has all meant a great deal to her. And whether I have one hour, one day, one week or one month left with her I couldnt be more proud of how shes battled. Thank you again to all of you!!! I will eventually get to all the posts and messages.
