An update on Lily Braham - Over the last few months Mom has had 4-5 episodes of delirium; after a brief hospital stay, her physician recommended a return to her home with provision of 24/7 care. We had three days to get things set up to accommodate her return to 25 Berkshire Ct. in Hamilton. Concerned about the possibility of a fall, my husband, Joe installed wall grips, made hand rails in the hall and bath, and built a new base for Moms bed to lower it. Meanwhile, I restocked cupboards and made things as ready as I could. I still have mixed emotions about the decision to move Mom home, but she has been back there since last Wednesday and she seems very content. Shes very happy to sit on her front porch and loves it when old neighbors drop by. Visiting Angels is now providing 24/7 care-staff for her. She has been very fortunate to get caregivers that have had extensive past experience with dementia patients and mental health. If you are ever over in the Brookwood area and have a few spare minutes, please feel free to stop in and see Mom. She probably wont recognize your face, but shes likely to recognize your name and would probably enjoy hearing a story or two about the good old days.
