An update on our plans for Harry LaHood Park: It is our intent to remove the playground next week and hopefully replace it by the first week in June. The safety surfacing is being completely removed as well. We are working on a plan to completely remove the sod from the park and reseed. We tested a couple outdoor turf vacuum machines that did not pick up the things we are most concerned with removing. They are not made to pick up debris of this type, they are designed to pick up leaves, grass and aeration plugs. The debris is just too small. Removing the sod is the only way we feel we can provide a safe environment for the participants of the park. More updates will follow as we confirm the details.
