An update to SSP family and others on the Washington Navy Yard ... The Washington Navy Yard (WNY) remains an active crime scene and will be open for business for MISSION ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL tomorrow, Wednesday, 18 September. ** Mission Essential Personnel is determined by the Command. Offsite office and Telework continues to be highly encouraged. ** The Visitor Control Center (VCC) at O Street will be open for normal hours of operation (0600-1600). ** Only DOD issued identification is recognized for access: Common Access Card (CAC), Military Retiree ID, Military Dependent ID. Personnel who left CAC/ID on WNYD will need to go to the VCC. ** 9th Street and O Street Gates are open for pedestrian and vehicle traffic. All other gates are secured for law enforcement operations. ** 6th St, N St and all River Walk turnstiles remain closed. ** At 0900, 18 September, Parking Garages 28, 104, 386, 405 and all surface parking lots are open for members to retrieve their private vehicles for immediate departure from the WNY. ** Building 197 access and pedestrian traffic on Isaac Hull Avenue is prohibited. ** All WNY food service operations, Navy Exchange, Navy Federal, and fitness center operations remain closed. Personnel are advise to provide for their own meals.
